Round Placemats

Abbreviations, Stitch knowledge:

St – stitch;

Sc- single crochet;

BO - back loop only;

Sl St – slip stitch;

() - repeat from ( to );

Gauge: 2st=1”and 2 rows=1”

The basket is worked from bottom up in continuous rounds.

Round 1. Make magic ring;

Round 2. Sc 6 in magic ring, DO NOT join the round, tighten the ring by pulling the tail end;

Continue working in spiral way, place the stitch marker at the beginning of the row for easy row counting.

Round 3. (2sc into each st)repeat all the way around, (12st);

Round 4. (2 sc, sc into next st) repeat all the way around (18st);

Round 5. (sc into next 2 st, 2 sc into next st) repeat all the way around (24st);

Round 6. (2 sc, sc in next 3 st) repeat all the way around (30st);

Round 7. (sc into 2 st, 2 sc in next st, sc into next 2 st) repeat all the way around (36st);

Round 8. Sc into each st through the back loop AND 3d loop of the st. The row will curl up forming the wall of the basket.

Round 9-13 Continue working with sc BO in spiral way without joining rounds until desired height of the basket.

Round 14. Slst all the way around.

Weave ends and finish off.

All st are worked in BO

Round 1-7. repeat rows 1-7 from basket pattern;

Round 8. ( sc into 4 st, 2sc, sc into next st) repeat all the way around (42st);

Round 9. (sc into 6 st, 2sc into next st)repeat all the way around (48st);

Round 10. (2 sc into next st, sc into next 7 st) repeat all the way around (54st);

Round 11. ( sc into 2 st, 2sc into next st, sc into next 6 st)repeat all the way around (60st);

Round 12. (sc into 4 st, 2 sc into next st, sc into next 5 st) repeat all the way around (66st);

Round 13. Sc all the way around.

Weave ends and finish off.
