Single Crochet Insert hook into top of the st, YO & pull through (2 loops on hook) YO pull through both looks on hook (1 loop remains on hook) Gauge:

Row 1 : Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc and 1 sc in each ch to the end of the row, ch 1 and turn your work (37 st)
Row 2 : Starting in the first st, 1 Blo sl st in each of the next 35 st. In
the last st, insert your hook through the back loop & the ch 1 st made at the start of the previous row, YO & pull through all loops to create a sl st in the last st of the row, ch 1 and turn you work (37 st)
Row 3 : 1 blo sc in the first st and in each of the next 35 st. In the last
st, insert your hook through the back loop & the ch 1 st made at the start of the previous row, YO & pull through, YO & pull through all loops on your hook to create a sc in the last st of the row, ch 1 and turn you work (37 st)

To Create the Border:
At this point, the “wrong side” of your work should be facing you.
Round 1-S1: 1 sc in each ch 1 sp to the end of the row, 2 sc in the
corner st and rotate your work (17 st)

Round 1-S2 : 1 sc in the bottom loop of each of the next 35 ch until
you reach the corner st, 2 sc in the corner st (36 st)
Round 1-S3 : Repeat R1 S1
Round 1-S4 : 1 Blo sc in each st to the end of the round, 1 sc into the
corner st and sl st into the first sc at the beginning of the round, ch 1.

Round 2-S1 : 1 sc in each of the next 16 st, 2 sc in each of the next 2
st, rotate your work
Round 2-S2 : 1 sc in each of the next 35 st, 2 sc in each of the next 2

Round 2-S4 : 1 sc in each of the next 35 st, sl st into the sl st at the

Cut your work approx. 3 inches, knot off and weave in your ends! You’re finished!
To keep your edges straight you may need to block you work.
